#14 Ring, Ring.

It’s been 2 weeks since I’ve restarted blogging. I’m still glad I did it.

Today consisted on helping Brennan researching Sir John Hawkins for his history class, laundry, and working on new Christmas tags for my shop. Another odd tidbit, the home phone rang twice today. Once it was someone trying to sell insurance, and the other was a wrong number. Weird, but it made me think back to when I was a kid, and it was nothing to receive several calls every day.

We didn’t have this phone, but Grandma had one similar…and it was a party line!

Now most people don’t even have a home phone, and they screen their cell phone calls. We, on the other hand, are the super weird ones, and we have two home phones. One is for calling back to the States, and the other we had to get to receive Guam phone calls, specifically from school. We kept our old cell numbers when we moved here, and Guam businesses, and Brennan’s school won’t use them because it’s long distance.

Growing up, we were totally cool at our house, and had a phone like this. The signal wouldn’t reach upstairs, so I would sit on the back porch, or sit on the basement steps and talk for hours (or until the battery died)!

These days I am guilty of this.

But also this.

The phone every girl wanted in the late 80s, early 90s.
The phone I got for my birthday one year, but Dad never got a new phone jack for me to hook it up. Looking back, that was probably a good call.

Oh memories.
